STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Longer days, warmer nights, more time spent outdoors.
This summer, Six Flags Great Adventure is celebrating everything that makes the season so awesome with its Summer Vibes Festival presented by M&M’s until Aug. 14. There are six unique zones to explore during the festival: Under the Sun, Whirly Way, Splash of Color, Forgotten Garden, Wacky Wavy Way and Summer Street.
As the largest zone with two areas dedicated to it in the theme park, Summer Street is where guests can cool down from the summer heat. This hydration zone takes guests on a trip through summer in the city. Get soaked by a spraying firetruck and hydrant to beat the summer heat.
The live entertainment in this section includes the Jump-Rope Brigade. Guests can take advantage of photo opportunities at Jon E. Pump Hydrant and the Pumper Truck.
Food in this zone includes the Vibes Café (formerly known as Metro Grill), Casa de Quesadilla, Gotham Snacks and Bar, Pine Barrels Bar, Jersey Devil BBQ and Nitro Pizza.
Under the Sun
With temperatures already exceeding 90 degrees this summer, guests can find a shady spot in this zone. Under the Sun “wows” guests with a colorful umbrella canopy photo opportunity. Guests can also be entertained by the Sun-Sational Street Acrobats.
In this area, dining choices include Central Brewhaus, which offers a selection of limited-time-only Summer Vibes sesame teriyaki chicken wings and heat wave hot shrimp and chips, Funnel Cake Factory, and Yum Yum Café. Guests over 21 can enjoy alcoholic beverages at the Ale House. Drink choices include Rum Punch Buckets made with Shipwreck Rum, house wine and Rose Froze. Non-alcoholic beverages options also are available.
Guests can experience a kaleidoscope of colors at this zone’s Massive Pinwheel Tunnel photo opportunity. Park-goers should also keep an eye out for the Whirly Unicyclist.
Guests can feast on limited-time Caribbean Vibes Spicy Jerk Rotisserie Chicken at Granny’s Country Kitchen. Afterward, guests can head to the Skybar to try the limited-time Summer Vibes Sangria and Coca Cola’s Berry Good Lemonade Fizz.
Splash of Color
Hop, skip or jump down the boardwalk, which is drenched in bold colors. Guests can see the Stick(y) Painters — drumming painters who seamlessly blend art and music percussion in an interactive family-friendly experience.
Watch out for the Sticky Spill and Giant Paint Can in this zone’s photo-op experience.
Good eats and sweet treats include the Garden State Grill’s Spicy Guacamole Cheddar Burger, Shore Eats and Treats: Mardi Gras Bar, and Funnel Cake Bay’s Fruity Cereal Funnel Cake.
This garden is full of repurposed ride relics and park memorabilia. Guests can take pictures at the Vine Trellis and Relic Garden.
Wacky Wavy Way
You are the star at the M&M’s DJ booth as you take the stage to entertain the wackiest waviest air dancing audience you’ll ever see.
After DJ’ing your set head over to Wildside Pizza to grab a slice of limited-edition Vibes Sweet Chili Chicken and Caribbean Jerk Chicken Pizzas.
More vibes to enjoy
Throughout the park there are additional Summer Vibes that are available to guests to enjoy, such as the Summer Vibes Dance Troupe and Rubber Duckies.
Guests are encouraged to use the hashtag #SixFlagsSummerVibes to be featured on the park’s social media pages.
