Pleasanton Welcomes New Springhill Suites Hotel on Johnson Drive | Regional/CA News

REGIONAL — In the Tri-Valley, hotel occupancy is beginning to rebound following the COVID pandemic. Now, two new Pleasanton hotels are adding more than 300 rooms for business travelers and tourists.

In 2019 prior to the pandemic, the annual Tri-Valley occupancy rate was 74.2%. In 2021, the lowest during the pandemic, the rate was 54.3%. But in 2023, the numbers rebounded to 65.2%, making Tri-Valley occupancy rates higher than Fremont, Oakland, Concord, Walnut Creek and Santa Clara, according to a STR annual report, a benchmarking tool that compares one hotel’s performance to a group of similar hotels.
