Lovable Michigan Travel Deals: A U.P. landmark, a waterfront inn, Grand Hotel’s lowest prices

We have a new batch of travel deals lined up for you to look at while you’re planning your next getaway in The Mitten. Lots of deals come into our inbox each week, and we sort through them to find a mix we think might tempt you to pack a bag and go explore a new area – or tuck into one of your favorite spots and just decompress.

This week’s lineup includes a little resort in the beautiful Bay Harbor area just outside Petoskey. While we’re in that area, we love to visit Gypsy Distillery and bring our bike for a pedal along the Little Traverse Wheelway.

We’ve also got some breaking travel news: Mackinac Island’s iconic Grand Hotel just dropped the details of its annual Celebrate Michigan package, which features some of the lowest prices of the 2024 season and is bundled with perks like dining and golf.

And for those heading north over the bridge, check out the special deals being revealed by a landmark U.P. hotel that’s all vintage on the outside but fancy on the inside.

#1 Inn at Bay Harbor

This luxury resort tucked into the curve of Little Traverse Bay near Petoskey is a great spot to settle in and relax for a few days, or use as a home base while you explore Bay Harbor and nearby Up North towns. We love that is has an on-site spa, and a waterfront restaurant with a good bar. Its workout area also offers fitness classes. For spring, the Inn at Bay Harbor is offering a deal for April and May travelers. It’s available at both the Inn and its nearby Cottages.

“Springtime has officially arrived, and to celebrate the splendor of the season to come, we’re offering 20% savings on your next escape, available at the Inn and both Cottages locations, 20% off April & May stays,” resort staff said. “Explore the Petoskey Wine Region and charming downtown shopping districts, or simply settle in at the resort. This spot always captures our attention. The Vault Hotel is in the former Houghton National Bank building. Circa 1887, this brick landmark with its beautiful Jacobsville Sandstone accents has been renovated into a hotel. The bank’s massive vault, teller windows and other legacy pieces remain on site, making it a fascinating property to explore during your stay.

And this year, The Vault is hosting its 5th annual Golden Egg Rate Hunt.

“We’re celebrating 5 great years serving our guests and our community so for 2024 we’re making this contest our biggest yet,” Vault staff said.
