Airbnb prepares for fans as hotel prices skyrocket

As fans prepare for Wild Card Weekend, many are looking for a place to stay close by and on a budget. But all the buzz of the game has prices of places to stay, skyrocketing. And when prices come into play you might want to rethink that hotel room and consider an Airbnb, especially if traveling with a group for the Bengals playoff season.Saving money while having fun is at the top of many game goers this weekend. With tickets prices already up to $600, the price point on a place to stay is key. In Over the Rhine, Airbnb owner, Erin Parrott says when you compare prices staying in an Airbnb is more practical.“You have accessible parking, you don’t have to pay for valet, you can accommodate more than two guests and with the accommodations we include everything. So we have a washer and dryer there are ironing boards, we have a great turnover service so the house is spotless all the time, we have a full bath in every bedroom so there’s a lot more benefits,” she said.Parrott’s Airbnb sleeps 10 guests with full bathrooms for each bedroom, a view of Downtown and is less than seven minutes away from Paycor Stadium. Amenities like a washer and dryer, full kitchen and living room are also pluses that you would not get with a hotel room. This weekend a room at the A/C Marriot by the banks goes for $1,000 a night for a one-bedroom, the Hyatt up to $600, and others are sold out. Choosing Airbnb, you may get more space for the same price. It’s a deal that, when traveling with more people, Parrott says is a no-brainer.”With it being playoff weekend we are super booked and super busy so it can range from anywhere $800 upwards to $1200 depending on if it’s a home game; so when it’s a home game on Sunday the price is a little more expensive. The home can accommodate up to 10 guests. If you think about that split between 10 individuals and what it will cost you for 5 hotel rooms, It’s a no-brainer,” she said.Having a good time can be expensive but it’s all about saving where you can.
